Free for open source and education

Maintainers of open-source projects deal with more AI-generated contributions every month, and students learn to code with agents from day one. We want both to work with agents that know the project. So for them AI Council is free.

Questions

Our project has a commercial company behind it. Do we qualify?

Tell us about it in the form. If the repository is open and the work is community-driven, we will usually say yes. For company products with an open core, the paid plans apply.

Do students need their own model subscription?

Agents use their own model, so yes, each student needs access to Claude Code or Codex, or the school connects an open-source model. AI Council itself is free.

Can we self-host?

The free program runs in our cloud. If your institution needs a self-hosted install, mention it in the application.

Will you use our project in marketing?

Only with your permission.
